The Ikoyi Blend is a straight-talking, honest chilli oil. This is our most popular product. It is a must for the chilli purist, and it is made right here in Royal Greenwich, London. This oil has been carefully curated to bring out the heat and aroma of selected chilli peppers. It is the original Lagosian: simple, uncomplicated and unapologetic.
Our cooking process carefully teases the fruits to extract the best of the chillis, producing a very lively zing coupled with a beautiful aroma. Rush this and the outcome is a fierce and rough chilli, leave it for too long and what comes out is a brownie with no bite and an uninspiring colour and tase. Try one; we are sure you’ll agree that we got it just right.

In addition to the liveliness, the Blend adds a beautiful smell to simple foods such as rice, pasta or yams. Frying eggs or plantains with a few drops of the Blend will add a hot zest to the fry-up. Indeed, the Ikoyi Blend is very handy for spicing up just about any cooking! We have done the hard work of rounding out the character and taste of the chilli. Add it a few minutes before taking your soup, stew or casserole off the heat and you can enjoy a rounded and lively taste.
Here are handy tips for the chef or cook. Avoid the uncertainty involved in shopping for peppers and not knowing what bite you get from the different peppers. With the Ikoyi Blend, each spoon packs the same punch. We know the best growers and the right time to synthesise. Save time on cooking by using some spoons of our oil; it saves you time spent on the shopping, cleaning and preparation. You could be eating in a few minutes, rather than hours.

Recipes

Spicy Indomie
Prepare your Indomie, as you normally would, but add a few drops of our 3-star Ikoyi Blend chilli, from the 50ml bottle. Folks; the dripper is there for a reason! Add as few or as many drops to get the desired effect. The result is an added aroma and a lively kick.

Chilli Drizzle
This is the simplest recipe; simply drizzle some 2-star Ikoyi Blend, from our 40ml or 190ml jar, on your pasta sauce to give it some zing. Use a teaspoon to spread it, carefully. You can do similar with lentils, beans or soups; simply add a few drops, or more, to the meal, and stir in before eating.

Vegan Pepper Soup
Toast finely ground spices (coriander, cumin, fennel seeds, & aniseed) in a pan over low to medium heat, for 2 minutes, until fragrance wafts through. Chop some vegetables (carrots, onions, potatoes, etc.). Place in a large pot with 2 cups of water, salt, and a few drops of 3-star Ikoyi Blend. Stir and simmer over low heat.
