Have you ever heard the English proverb “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”? Probably not. It is dated; but still relevant even today. There has to be more to life than just creating gems to brighten and delight others.
Well, we hear that the folks at Jack Daniel’s, the famous whisky distillers, get to keep a bottle of their brew every once in a while. At Èkó Street, we don’t indulge whisky; red wine being our preference. But we quite agree with the folks at JD’s and so do many of our fellow Brits who like a bit of chilli on the side 🙂
At Èkó Street, from time to time; and sometimes, from meal to meal, we get free jars of the Blend, the Mix, the Roast or the Jam. The Bible says it is not right to muzzle the ox while it treads out the corn. Well, we wouldn’t want to treat our folks any worse than oxen. No one should have to endure the concoction of so much delight, and not get to share in it!
And so, whether it be Easter, Christmas, Ramadan or Pesach, Thanksgiving or the Chinese new year; we always make sure that Èkó Street is present on the table. Whether in our homes or the homes of our loved ones: friends, family and colleagues.
